The Poole Bay Rotary has announced details for its Sponsored Walk & Family Fun Day at Baiter Park, Poole on July 5th from 11am – 4pm.
The Poole Bay Walk will take place from 11am -1pm as a sponsored walk of 12 or 15 kms in Poole’s beautiful scenery and you can choose Lewis-Manning as your charity to support.
Both the walks take in some of Poole’s most attractive scenery: from the start at Baiter Park along the harbour side of Parkstone Bay; Evening Hill and its stunning viewpoint, and the beaches; before returning via Branksome Chine and pine covered areas back to Whitecliff Park and to Baiter Park . Walking is mainly on level ground, but for parts of the Chine there are a few gentle inclines.
The longer walk folows the same route out and extends beyond Branksome Beach along the footpath at the back of the beach and over the border into Bournemouth to the mouth of Alum Chine before returning along the cliff to steep steps down in Branksome Dene Chine and along the beach to pick up the return route of the shorter walk, via Branksome Chine.
The walk will start and finish at Baiter Park between the car parks on Catalina Drive and the harbourside of Parkstone Bay and there will be marshalled stage points along the route.
