We help people from our local community with any life-limiting condition to cope, providing patients and their families with extraordinary care and personal support from diagnosis to end of life. We take pride in making sure everyone we care for lives their last days with dignity and compassion.
In December 2016 we opened our End of Life Unit with 6 beds that provide round-the-clock care. Our rooms have sea views, access to a garden and nothing is too much trouble for our dedicated team of nurses and volunteers. Our aim is now to move from a 6 bed unit to a 12 bed unit so that as many people as possible can benefit from our care.
Hospice care is extraordinary and makes a considerable difference to the lives of those whom we are able to help.
Staffing levels in End of Life Unit:
There is a minimum of two Registered Nurses on duty in the End of Life Unit each shift, supported by at least one Health Care Assistant. There is a doctor from Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm (we use the community on-call service out of hours).
