Bournemouth’s brand new Coastal Comedy will be supporting Lewis-Manning Hospice at its next night of stand-up on June 26th, which will be headlined by the hilarious Jarred Christmas.
Hosted by local comic Adrienne Coles in the setting of Bournemouth’s Hotel Celebrity, which recently featured recently on Channel 5’s Hotel Inspector, the night will also includes two support acts, plus there will be bucket collections during the night as well as a raffle in aid of the hospice.
June headliner Jarred Christmas has a unique style that deftly mixes gags with storytelling. Described by London’s Time Out magazine as “One of the funniest men to pick up a microphone”, Jarred has a dynamic onstage persona and the ability to improvise and roll with anything that’s thrown his way, making his comedy sizzle with originality.
His energetic storytelling has earned him a whole host of accolades including a Chortle Award and has catapulted him to the forefront of our TV screens in shows such as Mock The Week (BBC2), Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC2) 8 out of 10 Cats, (Channel 4), Argumental (Dave), One Night Stand (Dave) and Let’s Dance for Comic Relief (BBC 1).
Opening the show is the fabulously funny John Newton, who began his comedy career in 2003, and fast became known for his inventive writing, covering a massive spectrum of subjects from the surreal to the hard hitting, yet still managing to remember that “the gag” comes first. In that respect, he’s an old fashioned gag teller/writer and proud of it.
Hailing from North London, the final addition to June’s line-up is Philip Simon, voted Lastminute Comedian of the Year 2015 and Kill for a Seat Comedian of the Year 2015. Philip is a regular on the UK comedy circuit, popular for his cheeky, likeable persona and has been described by entertainment industry bible The Stage as “Never less than hilarious”. Audiences of all ages will enjoy his hilarious, and sometimes naughty observations.
Local comic Adrienne Coles hosts the night.
